About this app

The Medtronic Diabetes Updater app gives you access to the latest software updates. The Updater app enables software updates for your MiniMed™ 700-series pump, giving you access to the latest technology from Medtronic.

The Updater app connects with the MiniMed™ 700-series pumps via Bluetooth* communication. The software update process with Updater app puts you in control, giving you the freedom to update pump software remotely. And it does it all using the same pump you already have on hand.

Prescription, training and other prerequisites may be required before you can access pump software remotely. Consult the local Medtronic website or contact the Medtronic representative to know more about your pump eligibility. A compatible smartphone and internet connection are required. The app is compatible with major smartphone brands and operating systems, for more details visit the app compatibility tool.

This app will only work with a MiniMed™ 700-series insulin pump systems, which was specifically designed to communicate wirelessly with compatible smartphones. To find a list of compatible devices, please visit your local Medtronic website. The Medtronic Diabetes Updater app will not work with other MiniMed™ or Paradigm™ insulin pumps. Ratings and reviews

This app fails miserably on step 3 "check for update". Tried for over 4 hours, even forcing Wi-Fi only (going into airplane mode.) Always the same result "Oops something went wrong, try again. My phone had full signal and my pump was 4 inches away. Einstein's definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. If I could give zero stars (or less) that would be the rating.

As was stated in other reviews, I never received an email informingnme that I could upgrade after training., but the update was incredibly smooth for me. After reading the other reviews I anticipated difficulty, but aside from a self-imposed issue with a low battery this was an easy process. Update took less than the stated time to download, then the installation to the pump proceeded completely normally. Would like to see all the "pair/unpair" nonsense get resolved, otherwise very easy update.

Another disgrace from Medtronic. I completed the required onlinetraining courses which were verified complete and waited the stated 48 hours for the email saying I could upgrade. It never came. INSTEAD 1wk later I get an email thanking me for upgrading to 780g; meanwhile I had not so much as installed this Update app yet. Eventually I tried this app. It hardcrashed my pump multiple times forcing me to rewind reservoir and set clock. It took 4days for supp to fix my account to receive the update.
