About this app
Mesraq is a directory of Ethiopian businesses, for people in Ethiopia and for the
diaspora. Anyone can put up a sign. Mesraq is where somebody stands behind it.
FIND THE REAL ONE
20,148 places in Ethiopia, each with the landmark that actually gets you there, because
in Addis almost nothing has a street address. Search by name, by category, or by the
neighbourhood you already know: Bole, Piassa, Kazanchis, Merkato.
HABESHA PLACES NEAR YOU
2,352 listings across 39 countries and 632 cities. Restaurants, groceries, salons,
churches, shipping agents. If you have moved, the places that make somewhere feel like
home are already on the map.
A MAP THAT KNOWS THE COUNTRY
Browse by region and subcity, with terrain, and filter to the category you want. Save a
place, and it is there when you land.
PLAN A TRIP HOME
Build a day by day plan out of real listings and keep it for when you arrive.
ASK SOMEBODY WHO KNOWS
Is it still open? Is it still good? Ask, and someone who was there recently answers.
Reviews carry a name, so a recommendation has a person attached to it.
IN AMHARIC AND ENGLISH
Full Amharic throughout, with more languages arriving.
FREE
Finding, saving, planning and asking are free, for everyone, always. Claiming and
running your own business listing is free too. If we ever charge, it will be businesses
paying to reach people, and never you.

Video. The app can now play short clips, starting with a walkthrough of how to add a photo to a review. Tap to watch; it never plays on its own, and it stays muted.
