Not sure why this app is rated so poorly. It's better than the version 8. Runs stable, connects to all my Windows machines just fine, direct or over VPN. Mouse mode is great and feels just like using a big laptop touchpad. Support for multiple resolutions including "Retina" scaled ones is nice (assuming the server is Win8 or newer). Performance is good too, I can actually watch videos via RDP on my LAN just like on the full Windows client.

Running a windows desktop from a remote touch screen is a tricky business. These people seem to have an appreciation of the important details and have pretty much done what anyone could expect with a product like this. Except for the speed, for example, running this on a Chromebook is fine.

Microsoft's Desktop Remote app is not very user-friendly and can be difficult to pair with a PC. The lack of a QR code pairing option makes the process even more complicated. In comparison to other remote control apps, this one lacks many features and falls short in terms of ease of use. Overall, I would not recommend this app due to its complexity and limited functionality.
