When I installed this, it was turning off about twice a day. I checked the app permissions etc, problem continued. For anyone else with this problem, it's your battery settings that need changing, it's not an app issue at all! Go to Microsoft's homepage, type, "Web protection keeps turning off on my Android device" in the search bar and it will take you straight to the page addressing the issue. I also tested Defender's effectiveness using F-Secure AV test app and it responded immediately! 👍

Very happy with the way Defender just works in the background and protects without constantly wanting to or in fact highlightly how great it is and constantly asking for reviews for a job well done, which is exactly what it is meant to do at a minimal level to begin with. A job well done. So perhaps Microsoft is finally catching on to what the Consumer wants.

I don't understand why people hate this anti-virus so much. It is really good and supported by Microsoft. It gets the job done. Has a few interesting features. UI is very intuitive and not overloaded by tons of widgets like in other anti-viruses. I haven't noticed any problems with battery life or performance. It shows protection status for other devices that you connect. Totally recommend. Really good for a free anti-virus
