About this app

Middle Setup is the companion app for the Middle Things APC-R — the wireless controller that brings Blackmagic camera control to your gimbal rig.

Pair your APC-R to a Blackmagic Design camera over Bluetooth in seconds, set it up for the shoot, and get back to filming. No cables, no menus to dig through.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Find your controller — Middle Setup discovers the APC-R units around you and shows their signal strength. Tap one to connect.
• Pair a camera — put your Blackmagic camera into Bluetooth pairing mode and Middle Setup links it to the APC-R, guiding you through the camera's PIN when it asks for one.
• Set the ATEM camera ID — choose the camera number your APC-R answers to on your ATEM switcher (1–99), so it lines up with your switcher and tally.
• Rescan in one tap — if the controller times out looking for a camera, put it straight back to work.

BUILT FOR THE SET
Fast, focused, and single-purpose. Clear status at every step, big tap targets, and a clean, modern interface that stays out of the way when you're rolling.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
• A Middle Things APC-R (or APC-R Mini / Lite).
• A compatible Blackmagic Design camera with Bluetooth.
• Bluetooth switched on. Android requires the Location permission to scan for nearby Bluetooth devices — Middle Setup uses it only to find and pair your controller and camera. No location data is collected, and nothing leaves your device.
