Tells me I can't connect to the internet because I'm connected to blackvue wifi, tells me I can't connect to blackvue wifi. When you do connect to the camera, it doesn't display the clips in any apparent order. They aren't chronological. So you get to hunt for the clip you need. At least the camera randomly stops recording, so you got that going for you. Which is nice.
Previously reviewed this as an average app that needed improvement. It has just gotten worse with every update. How hard can it be to establish a connection to the camera when you're already on its own WiFi network? And there is still a live view limitation which makes no sense and should be removed. Utter crap!
This is strictly a review of the app. I have had no issues with the camera itself. The footage is great and, whenever I need to pull a clip, I always take off the SD card directly. Much faster that way. That being said, this app is sad. It's only truly useful for getting the camera(s) aimed properly. There's no point in watching live while you're IN the car. In fact, one might say that's dangerous. And pulling clips over wifi is just plain slow. The redeeming part of this app is also the thing I hate most; the cloud access. The streaming works very well with low latency, but I really cannot understand why I need to pay for cloud access when I'm on the same wifi network as the camera! Come on, Pitta! Give us an option to stream free on the same network!!
I can't believe this doesn't support lan connection when my tablet and the camera are on the same wifi network. I either have to disconnect from my home wifi or transfer files over the "Cloud" which is ridiculously slow. Also needs landscape support for tablet users. The Wifi connection option seems really buggy. I often get "failed to connect" errors when I am well within range. Even on Wifi, the live view quality is very low. I can't see well enough to adjust the camera. Sorry to be such a downer, but this was an expensive camera, one of the most expensive there is. I'm sad the app is not up to the same standards as the hardware.
Good Camera, Poor App. Everytime I want to view/download content from the camera I'm having to forget the WiFi network in my setting and re add it. Otherwise even though I am connected the app will say not connected to wifi.
App works good, locks up when saving sometimes but I would really like to see a firmware update where I can set how many seconds the camera saves before I start manual recording, kinda like I press the button after something happens to save it
Map design update: the color of the dashcam clusters now indicates whether they contain at least one dashcam with publicly shared Live View (green cluster) or not (yellow cluster).
