Turn your phone into a pocket binoculars alternative
Pocket binoculars replacement for travel, hiking, wildlife, concerts, sightseeing, and outdoor use.
I travel a lot and spend a lot of time outdoors, and I used to carry small pocket binoculars with me everywhere. One day I thought: why not make a phone version so I don’t need to carry extra gear?
That’s why I built this app. It can be useful when you want to zoom in on far objects, view details, take photos or videos, and estimate the distance to an object directly from your phone.
The app includes high digital zoom, Shake Control for a steadier view, image processing for cleaner results, and a distance measurement feature based on the known height or width of an object.
Key features:
• Up to 70× digital zoom
• Shake Control for a more stable view
• Image enhancement for clearer photos and videos
• Photo and video recording with zoom
• Distance measurement by object height or width
• Meter and feet support
• Useful for travel, hiking, wildlife, sightseeing, concerts, and outdoor observation
• Works as a pocket binoculars alternative when you do not want to carry extra gear
Measure Distance feature:
Manually enter the width or height of the object. For example, if a person is 1.75 m tall, select Height and enter 1.75 m. Then adjust the zoom and align the object with the yellow guide lines on the screen. Based on the entered object size and the current zoom level, the app will calculate the estimated distance to the object.
You can also use known object sizes, such as a floor height, building section, door, vehicle, or other visible reference object.
Important note:
This app uses digital zoom and camera-based distance estimation. Results depend on your phone camera, zoom level, lighting, object size accuracy, and how steady you hold the device. Distance measurement is an estimate and should not be used for professional surveying, safety-critical measurement, or legal purposes. For best results, hold the phone steady or rest it on a stable surface.
