Turn your Android phone into a practical Python development environment.

PocketCoded Py is an offline-first Python IDE for students, learners and developers who want to write, run, debug and manage Python projects directly on Android. Its core editing and execution tools work locally, so you can keep building without a constant internet connection.

Write, run and debug Python

• Run Python scripts locally with the bundled Python 3.10 runtime.
• Work with multiple files, editor tabs and syntax highlighting.
• Get autocomplete, function signatures, code inspections and suggested fixes.
• Navigate to definitions, find usages and rename Python identifiers across a project.
• Set breakpoints, step through code and inspect variables and the call stack.
• Save run configurations with arguments, environment variables and working directories.
• Discover and run unittest tests, or use pytest when installed.

Terminal, packages and Git

• Use the integrated terminal for supported project, file and Python commands.
• Install compatible Python packages with pip and requirements files.
• Work with built-in Git tools and generate SSH keys.
• Transfer files using SFTP with SSH key authentication.
• Configure remote Python execution on a compatible SSH server, with optional project upload.

Data science and visual output

NumPy, SciPy and Matplotlib are bundled for offline use. Run calculations, explore data and preview Matplotlib figures inside the app.

Additional packages depend on Android and Python compatibility. Packages requiring unsupported native extensions or desktop system components may not install or run.

Projects, files and recovery

• Create projects and import Python files, folders or ZIP projects.
• Organise code with the built-in file explorer.
• Search and replace across project files.
• Preview and restore previous saved versions with local file history.
• Recover interrupted edits when reopening a project.
• Save and export projects for backup or sharing.

Database tools

Open local SQLite databases, run SQL queries and inspect results in a grid. Supported SQLite table views also let you add, edit and delete rows. Configure connections to supported remote databases when network access is available.

Build beyond simple scripts

Experiment with compatible Python libraries and prototype local web or API projects. Run Python modules and framework commands from the terminal, with code suggestions for frameworks including Django, Flask and FastAPI. Frameworks and additional tools must be installed separately where compatible.

Optional AI coding assistance

Connect supported providers such as Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic and OpenRouter using your own API key, or configure a compatible endpoint, including a reachable Ollama server.

Ask for code explanations, suggested fixes and help with project changes or terminal commands. Review and approve suggested actions before applying them. AI requests can include code and terminal context, and provider charges or usage limits may apply.

AI requires access to the selected service. Your core local editing and Python execution workflow works independently.
