App very easy to use and add devices. Live view fare, a bit slow with p2p, but it's because of the protocol itself. On local network and dyndns quite good. But dyndns isn't as safe to use. On playback of devices the app needs a LOT of work, very unpredictable, even on local network, which is the fastest connection. Overall the app is average.

according to the apps page it does not collect data. but looking at the privacy policy, not only does it collect all of your data, The app sells your data to third-party people. which seems like a huge risk to take when it's your home security system, or a business security system.

Functionality, the app is quite good. But, the camera (Dahua) interface firmware needs some work to improve connectivity when the camera is being used on a system where the ISP uses CG-NAT, doesn't have port forwarding and blocks incoming connections. Very often it takes multiple failed attempts to make connection. Significant improvement is possible as the Govee devices on the same network are virtually 100% available immediately externally. This is a significant shortcoming.
