About this app

Here2Talk is a Government of B.C. initiative that connects post-secondary students in B.C. with mental health support when you need it. If you are a student registered at a B.C. post-secondary institution, you have access to free, confidential counselling and community referral services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. No appointment needed.

Post-secondary education can be a wonderful and exciting life experience. For most students, it is a time of mixed emotions as you learn to navigate a new routine, gain more independence, and balance competing social and academic priorities. The good news is, you don't have to tackle all of this on your own!

Constantly buggy / crashes, slow, frustrating to use. Counsellors are more concerned with ticking all the boxes than actually helping clients. Not a reliable substitute for an in-person counsellor or therapist.

It's a good service for self-reflection and just being able to talk to someone who will listen to you compassionately. I find it is usually less busy on weekend mornings.

Not able to get through as they are always busy. Being in a crisis and waiting for more than an hour is unsafe for the service users. Suicide is not a real danger when someone feels that way and has to wait enormous times!!
