So a few things on this. The app isn't terrible. It's used to update the tags and can also use it for the basic find my device features. That being said, it would be nice not to have an extra app since these are supposed to function as Find My Device hardware. Also, having to wait for gated app rollouts to be able to update your tags with the latest features, just doesn't feel good. The UWB update has been touted, but you cannot get it unless you have the latest app version. Allow opt in.

Now that they have UWB support and fixed the battery reporting issues I can finally recommend these. I'm pretty annoyed that nearly 2 weeks into the UWB update I still had to side load the app because it wasn't rolled out to me. Only been waiting for this since last August. But, as far as the trackers go they do what they say they do. That, with the robust accessory market make them desirable.

The TAG pairs with the phone fine. After the most recent app update, at least the app will now connect to the tag. But the Moto Tag APP still will not allow the tag to ring the phone or take a photo as advertised. Unclear if UWB works. The devide uses a "hotter/colder" method to show you how close your phone is to the tag. So can non-UWB trackers. They said that FMD did not yet support UWB, but didn't say the Moto App did not as well. No directionality or AR locating. UWB appears irrelevant.

Please re-try to connect by first going to the top level "My tags" menu by selecting the tag icon on the top left and then selecting the tag. Please keep the tag nearby when trying to connect.
