This app is better organized than the other local news apps. BUT I have problems with the articles not loading when I click on them. I end up closing it, counting to 3 and clicking again. Sometimes it takes doing this twice, and sometimes it doesn't work at all. This is about 50% in "top stories", but 90% in the "latest" category. Despite this issue, I still use the app bc it's the best of our local news apps

We are sorry to hear about the problems you are experiencing. We are a few weeks away from launching a completely new news app that should fix the issues you are encountering when trying to read stories. Be sure that you have auto-update enabled.

The new update only allows the sharing of certain articles. If I ever find a replacement app for local news, I will use it instead of this one. The app developer claims that all pages can be shared, but how? The articles that can be shared have a little box with an arrow pointing up from them at top of the screen. The other, unshareable, articles do not have this icon, instead there is a refresh icon in its place.

Thank you for providing feedback on the WRAL News app. This is the first major upgrade to the app in more than five years. We realize that it can take users time to get accustomed to the change. Sharing is available on all story pages. Please know that we are reading all the feedback and will be considering updates to further enhance the app

The app is great other than the TechWire articles. Not sure why the type of article could make any difference at all, but those articles are almost unreadable because anytime I try to scroll down to continue reading, the app scrolls left or right to the next article. It doesn't make sense why it would only be those articles, but in my experience, that's the case, or else I would think it's my phone. Update: being fixed, thanks! Otherwise, the current location in weather isn't working right now.

Chris - we've had a few other issues with Techwire that are related, so we found a larger-scale solution that will address them all. The downside is this will take longer to implement, but the upside is that it will provide a much longer-lasting stability. Thank you for your patience and patronage!
