Ratings and reviews

I watch tv broadcast daily and also use app. Having the video clips play automatically is extremely annoying especially while streaming music which it shuts down. Unless I am mistaken there is no way that I can prevent this from happening on my smartphone. Personally I feel that I should choose whether I want to play the clip or not i.e. USER CHOICE. Thus the very low rating for an otherwise very good app in every other way. Please consider changing the video component! Thank you.

Annoying large pop up ad that you need to swipe at app startup. The other Albany news station apps don't do that. Still has the popup ad. Accidentally touching the ad can take you to a malicious website. Best to uninstall this app. There are 2 other Albany News Apps which don't have this annoying large pop up ad at startup. Would have been a good app except for the annoying and potentially virus infected popup ad at app startup. New version of app has the issue again.

When using the app, I click on a news story and only get half, if not less, of the story. It just shows a plain white screen. From what I can see, they're trying to insert advertisement into the article and it cuts off everything underneath it. Poor programming to say the least.

What's new

If you’re holding your device in landscape when entering an article screen, the video will no longer automatically jump into full-screen mode. If you’re holding your phone or tablet in portrait orientation when you’re on an article, then you can still quickly launch video full-screen mode by rotating it to landscape. We also fixed some minor bugs.
