About this app

Voice Notes turns a spoken note into something you can actually use: a clean transcript and a short structured summary — key points, decisions, action items, and the dates you said out loud.

All of it happens on your phone. Not "encrypted in transit". Not "deleted after 30 days". The recording, the transcription and the summary never leave the device, because the app has no way to send them anywhere.

WHAT IT DOES

• Record a note, or import audio you already have
• Get a transcript, on-device, with no network connection of any kind
• Get a structured summary: key points, decisions, action items with due dates, follow-ups
• Edit anything — every line of the transcript and every item in the summary
• Search across all your notes
• Share or export a note as plain text or Markdown

WORKS WITH NO SIGNAL

Try it in airplane mode. Record a note on a plane, on the underground, in a basement, on a hike, in a country where your data doesn't work. It behaves exactly the same, because there is no server behind it and no account to sign into.

NO ACCOUNT. NO SIGN-UP. NO CLOUD.

There is no login screen. There is no subscription wall in front of recording or transcription, and there never will be — those are the app. You open it and it works.

ABOUT PERMISSIONS

This app requests: Microphone, to record. Notifications, to show transcription progress. Three technical permissions Android's background-work library requires (wake lock, network state, run after restart).

It does not request internet access. That's not a policy we promise to follow — it is a capability the app does not have. You can verify it yourself in the app's permission list.

WHAT IT IS NOT

It is not a meeting assistant that joins your calls. It is not a cloud transcription service. It does not use your recordings to train anything, because your recordings never reach us. We have no servers, so there is nothing to breach and nothing to subpoena.

LANGUAGES

Transcription supports a wide range of languages. The app interface is available in English, Hindi, Portuguese (Brazil) and Indonesian.

A NOTE ON ACCURACY

Speech recognition on a phone, with no cloud, is a real engineering trade-off. Transcripts are good, not perfect — names and unusual words are where it slips. Everything is editable for exactly that reason, and the summary is built from the text you can see and correct. On phones with enough memory, an optional higher-accuracy model can be downloaded from inside the app.

What’s new

First release.

Record or import a voice note and get a transcript plus a structured summary — key points, decisions, action items and follow-ups. Everything runs on your phone. The app declares no internet permission, so nothing you record can leave the device.

Search across your notes, edit any summary, and share a note as markdown.

On phones with 6 GB of RAM or more, the notes list offers a larger, more accurate speech model as an optional download.
