About this app

Ghost has an excellent desktop editor and no Android app. Nib is the missing one: a native Android companion for your own Ghost publication, so an idea can reach your site before you get back to your desk.

Nib talks directly to your self-hosted or Ghost(Pro) site through the official Ghost Admin API. Your content and credentials stay between your phone and your server. There is no Nib account, no middleman, and no tracking.

Tap "Explore demo" on the setup screen to try the whole app before you connect a blog. No account needed.

FREE, ALWAYS
- Compose short posts in an editorial, distraction-free editor
- Share a link, a photo or a selection from any app straight into a post
- Optional titles: post titleless microblog notes or full titled articles
- Attach images and rich link previews with one tap
- Hashtags become Ghost tags
- Save drafts, edit, delete, and publish
- One Ghost blog
- Editorial timeline with search, filters, and sorting
- Swipe actions, pin, and preview
- Home-screen widgets and launcher shortcuts
- A statistics dashboard: posts, words, reading time, tags

OFFLINE-FIRST
- Nib saves a post on your phone first, then uploads it in the background
- Automatic retry with backoff when the network drops
- A lost reply never becomes a second post: Nib checks what your site already has
- Never lose a post because you were on the subway

ALT TEXT, IF YOU WANT THE HELP
Nib can suggest a description for an image you are about to publish. Your phone writes those descriptions by default, with no key and nothing leaving the device. If you would rather use Google's cloud model, add your own Gemini API key in Settings and choose it there. Nib sends nothing when you attach an image, save a draft, or publish. The image goes out only when you ask for a description. Nib scales it down and re-encodes it first, which strips the GPS coordinates, camera model and timestamp your phone wrote into it. The file you picked never leaves the device. Requests go straight to Google, billed to your own Google account. What comes back is a suggestion in the alt-text field, for you to edit, keep or delete. Nib never publishes one on its own, runs no server, and sees nothing.

NIB PRO
Nib has no servers and never sees your writing, so there is nothing to rent you. Pro funds the work of keeping a small, independent app current with Ghost and with Android, and it unlocks the publishing workflows built on top of that:
- Up to five Ghost blogs, each fully isolated with separate credentials and offline queues
- Scheduled publishing
- Send posts as a newsletter
- Members administration
- Static pages
- Full tag management

Choose monthly, yearly, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Google Play shows prices in your own currency. Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically until you cancel them in Google Play; the lifetime purchase does not renew.

If you installed Nib before Pro existed, nothing is taken away. Everything you already use stays yours, with no purchase required.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
- Nib stores your credentials encrypted on the device (AES-256)
- No ads, no advertising ID, and Nib sells or shares nothing about you
- No usage analytics. Nib includes crash reporting, which you can switch off in Settings, and nothing else that reports back
- Nib has no account and no server of its own: your writing goes to your Ghost site and nowhere else

Requires a Ghost blog and its Admin API key (Settings then Integrations on your Ghost site). Step-by-step guide: https://nib.orzech.me/admin-api-key/
