Take office in one of 17 nations. Set the income tax, fund the hospitals, police the streets, calm the markets — and face the voters before the term runs out.

GovSim is a full political simulation: a living web of 300+ policies, 150+ national statistics and situations, 20 voter blocs and 2,000 simulated citizens. Every policy you touch ripples through the economy, the crime rate, the environment and the mood of every voter group — tap any circle to see exactly what causes it and everything it changes.

The last six months are the campaign: commit a manifesto, hold rallies, survive the TV debate, and decide whose donor money to take — their asks come due at the ballot box. Choose two- or three-party politics, FPTP or PR; in a coalition, the junior partner tables demands and can bring the government down.

🛡️ SURVIVE THE CONSEQUENCES
Neglected anger radicalizes into pressure groups, plots and — if your security forces are asleep — assassination. Multi-stage crises (a pandemic, a bank run, a drought, a border standoff) end well only if you built the country that can take the hit. Ministers get caught in scandals; sink low enough for long enough and your own party moves against you first.

Every policy, headline and crisis lands on your run's timeline. When it ends, the legacy report charts your years in office — and mints a challenge code any friend can replay, same nation, same dice.

NO ads, NO pay wall, NO tracking, NO obnoxious monetization. Just the option to support further development if you want to. I haven't even played a full game yet, but I was so impressed that I wanted to write a review. It's a gov. simulator with an impressive amount of detail, especially considering it was apparently done by one person. You can manage the economy, budget, taxes, and much MUCH more. I could genuinely see this being used in classrooms to teach gov., econ., & political tradeoffs.

It's a good game, but you start with a massive deficit and half of the people hating you. Also, there is this one saved game I have (UK with FPTP and two parties on Forgiving difficulty) which I regularly save and yet something keeps automatically undoing my State Rail Company and Rail Subsidies. Also, more details around the structure of the parliament and foreign relations, along with making the game mechanics more specific to the country you picked, would be good.

the tax revenues are always unrealistically small. i deliberately chose "realistic" difficulty because i was expecting the challenge to be similar to each country's real world challenges. but the tax revenues aren't even realistic. are you telling me that out of the hundreds of million of americans who pay taxes, the revenues only add up to less than $100b/year? you should look up the real data first and then update the game. i'm not playing while the numbers are still unrealistic.

What’s new

🌏 Three new nations: Argentina, Indonesia and India.

• Argentina: chronic inflation, unions that empty the capital, libertarians against the Peronist machine
• Indonesia: subsidised fuel, free school meals, nickel underground, coalitions with no opposition
• India: the world's largest electorate, free grain for 800 million, a state-run railway, a restless border
• Locked policies now explain themselves: named traits, a lock up front, where each is playable
