Hold the hex against waves that never stop escalating.
HexGuard is a tower defence game on a hex board, built for short sessions and long
progress. Place towers where their fields overlap, watch a wave break against them, and
come back tomorrow to a purse that filled while you were gone.
━━━ THE BOARD ━━━
Towers are not interchangeable. Each archetype changes what its neighbours do:
• Arbalest — fast armour-piercing bolts, one target at a time
• Bombard — slow, heavy splash, and it lifts the damage of everything beside it
• Arcane Obelisk — magic that ignores armour entirely, and sharpens its neighbours' aim
• Frost Spire — chills what it touches, so everything nearby hits chilled enemies harder
• Pyre — stacking burn that does not care how much health a thing has; two Pyres feed
each other
• Aerie — hunting falcons that only take flying prey, and teach the towers around them to
look up
• Tesla Coil, Warden's Sanctum — and more, opened by getting deep enough to have earned them
Where you put a tower matters as much as which tower it is. A Frost Spire between two
Bombards is a different board than the same three towers in a line.
━━━ EARN WHILE YOU'RE AWAY ━━━
Idle income is tied to what you have actually BEATEN, not to how long you have left the app
closed. Secure a new tier and it goes up permanently. Camp a wave count and it does not.
━━━ EVERY RUN PAYS ━━━
Win or lose, a run pays Marks. Marks buy a permanent upgrade tree — damage, range, starting
gold, offline capacity — so a run that ended badly still moved you forward. There is no
run that was a waste of time.
━━━ TEN TIERS, SIX ISLES ━━━
Each isle is a different road and a different shape of board. Each tier adds one more
mutator on top of the last, so tier 8 is everything tier 7 threw at you and one thing more.
Secure a tier and it stays secured.
━━━ RELICS AND COMFORTS ━━━
Shards buy relics — permanent modifiers that apply to every run, every one of them capped —
and the comforts that make a long game pleasant: faster game speeds, auto-advance between
waves, and the Castellan, an AI pilot that will fight a run for you.
━━━ FAIR BY DESIGN ━━━
• No ads. Not between waves, not for rewards, not at all.
• Nothing in the shop is stronger than what playing gives you. Every relic and every
comfort is capped, and the caps are the same whether you spend or not. Money moves the
date you get there, never the destination.
• The tower ladder, the isles and the whole upgrade tree cannot be bought at any price.
• Your progress lives on your device. An account is optional and only keeps a copy, so a
new phone starts where the old one left off.
• Play it entirely offline if you like. Nothing is gated behind a connection.
