Basic Norwegian: Progress guides you through the language using the grammar progression commonly taught in Norwegian textbooks and language courses. Each topic includes clear, textbook-style explanations followed by practical exercises, helping you understand how the language works instead of simply memorizing phrases.

Whether you're learning on your own or alongside a textbook or classroom course, the app provides a structured path from one topic to the next, making it easy to build a solid foundation.

The app is currently available in English and Norwegian only, with a Dark Mode interface.

The core course is completely free, including:

The app currently covers all core A1 grammar, giving beginners the knowledge needed to continue confidently to A2.

Unlike many language apps that mainly teach useful phrases, Basic Norwegian explains why the language works. Understanding the grammar makes it easier to speak, write, and continue learning independently.

Premium is optional. It unlocks audio recordings and additional vocabulary games for all levels, giving you more opportunities to practise pronunciation and reinforce what you've learned. All essential learning content remains available for free.
