NoteQuest turns your phone into a practice partner: you play your real instrument, the app listens and tells you right away whether the note was right.

FOUR INSTRUMENTS, ONE PATH
Piano, flute, violin or guitar – pick your instrument and start from zero. Each one has its own learning path, from the very first note to scales, intervals and chords.

THE APP LISTENS
Point the microphone at your instrument and play. NoteQuest detects the pitch in real time and tells you more than just "right" or "wrong": it also says whether you were sharp, flat or simply out of tune. If a MIDI keyboard or instrument is connected, it is used automatically – exact, without delay and polyphonic.

LESSONS THAT EXPLAIN INSTEAD OF QUIZZING
Music theory is not a separate quiz section, it is part of playing: hear it and play it first, put a name to it after. A lesson step can explain something, let you compare two sounds, ask for a chord or ask a question. Topics include keys and key signatures, intervals, scales, triads and cadences, note values, time signatures, dynamics and articulation.

PLAY SONGS – AT YOUR OWN PACE
Pick a piece from the song library and choose how it should run:
• Wait for every note – the song pauses until you play the right note. Ideal for learning.
• Let it run – the piece keeps its own tempo and counts which notes you hit.
On top of that: a tempo ramp, a loop trainer for difficult bars and automatic weak-spot detection that brings back exactly the passages you haven't mastered yet.

LEARN TO READ MUSIC
Full notation with clef, key signature, time signature, note values, ledger lines, dynamics and articulation. Accidentals appear only where they differ from the key signature – just like in real sheet music. Plus keyboard and fretboard views showing the target note, the note you actually played and finger numbers.

• Sight-reading training that speeds up after a streak and slows down after mistakes

A mistake brings a note straight back; as you succeed, the intervals grow. Your progress is saved and never goes backwards.

OFFLINE AND FREE
Tutorial, practice games and progress work without an account and without an internet connection. A free account additionally unlocks cross-device progress and the song library.

YOUR AUDIO STAYS WITH YOU
The microphone is used for note detection only. All analysis runs directly on your device – no audio recordings are stored or uploaded.

Available in English and German. No ads, no subscription traps.

Please note: microphone-based note detection works better on some instruments than others. On piano and flute it is usually reliable; on violin and guitar, vibrato, bow noise and strong overtones can push it to its limits. The pitch trace under "Practice" always shows you what actually comes through – and with a MIDI instrument the question disappears entirely.
