Providing curious minds with a home for music discovery. NTS is a global music radio platform, broadcasting from over sixty cities every month. Started as a DIY passion project in Hackney in 2011, with the aim of supporting emerging artists and creating an alternative to stagnant mainstream radio, the platform has over 600 resident hosts: musicians, DJs artists and record collectors.

Tune into two live channels 24/7, more than a dozen Infinite Mixtape channels, or listen back to tens of thousands of archive shows spanning countless genres; from hip-hop to techno, jazz to afrobeats and disco to ambient.

Great app, wish it had a tiny bit more functionality, like cast to devices on your LAN, or auto open/play when connected to a bluetooth device. (For example, my car doesn't have android auto, but every time I get in my car Spotify somehow commects and resume playing whatever I had on). Final suggestion, also a spotify-esque feature where you can start playing audio on a different device logged in to your NTS app. IE, I could use the mobile app to start playing audio on my PC.

NTS Radio itself is really great, I love it and use it daily on desktop and mobile. Unfortunately, the mobile app is very unstable. Opening any other high priority sound source, like a video, always crashes/closes the app, forcing you to restart it and find where you left off. Using a browser to navigate to NTS.live is more reliable for listening than the app itself - that seems to be all the app does anyways.

NTS is bar-none the best music discovery & radio site. But the Android app experience could be better. It is a wrapper around the web page (TWA) rather than a proper native app, so it struggles with continuous playback, using the device player controls, staying logged in, etc. It also doesn't work well with most browsers other than Chrome, a famously evil browser. I would love a proper NTS app with the full features of a modern music app! <3
