Providing curious minds with a home for music discovery. NTS is a global music radio platform, broadcasting from over sixty cities every month. Started as a DIY passion project in Hackney in 2011, with the aim of supporting emerging artists and creating an alternative to stagnant mainstream radio, the platform has over 600 resident hosts: musicians, DJs artists and record collectors.

Ratings and reviews

This is for the app usage + some for NTS as a music radio :) Things that need to be worked on for app usage - Better support for starting and stopping from media controls. Current method requires you to pause and play from giant white arrow where you found show - Better metadata for track listings. Some shows just give you two songs and then give up. Would help music discovery a lot right now the browser experience is the goto mobile experience. This is for convenience

This app is not very user friendly in terms of play and go like other streaming apps. If I start a playlist, I have to swipe up to the homepage to keep music playing. Locking the phone while within the app stops the music. Also, it does not seem to support continuing a playlist/song from wherever it was stopped, requiring you to start over from the beginning. The track "selection" for playlists does not seem to work, requiring manual manipulation of the track cursor to find the right timestamp.

NTS Radio itself is really great, I love it and use it daily on desktop and mobile. Unfortunately, the mobile app is very unstable. Opening any other high priority sound source, like a video, always crashes/closes the app, forcing you to restart it and find where you left off. Using a browser to navigate to NTS.live is more reliable for listening than the app itself - that seems to be all the app does anyways.
