I've loved this app, but the recent update screwed something up. Perfect solves (no reveals/error checks, same day) aren't giving the gold star. The existing ones are gold, but new perfects aren't. I did close out of the app, is that a problem now? I've been doing NYT crosswords for decades and have NEVER done higher difficulty days in one sitting. I know it's trivial and shouldn't matter, but it does matter. The gold provides a therapeutic sense of accomplishment. Fix and it's 5 star.

Overall, pretty good app. A couple small critiques: 1) The crossword keyboard is not the best, I find it often misses a tap, causing me to mistype a word. My guess would be that this has to do with the hitboxes of the keys not covering the space in between. 2) I'd like to see the stats and other features that I've seen in screenshots of the iOS version.

This app is pretty good, but it is missing some features that are available online and in the iOS apps. Why can't I view crossword stats in the app? I play exclusively on my phone and having to open a web browser to view my solve times is quite annoying. I can't imagine that viewable bar graphs would be very difficult to add to the app.

Daylight Saving Time ended on November 7. DAYLIGHT SAVINGS has appeared in the Crossword twice in the Shortz era, clued as “Dracula’s least favorite time?” and “Summer time.” DST, on the other hand, has appeared 87 times, clued as “Something to fall back from: Abbr.,” “Something you might lose a little sleep over?: Abbr.” and “Occasion to do a late shift?: Abbr.”
