I granted all the required permissions, but the app keeps asking for permission every time I press the microphone button to check my pronunciation.

The IPA transcriptions and most of the individual vowel sounds are British English pronunciation but almost all of the vocabulary words are pronounced using American English. This is contradictory and not helpful when trying to learn how to say the vowels.

One of simple clone apps made for ads money based on google voice recognition which has problems with simple words I pronunce corectly like chick because it tends to imply I say check because it's more probable I serch for check then chick and there's no possibility to hear yourself making lack of selfcontrol and assessment. I can simply voice input word in google translator and will be the same only that I pick word not somebody else and it will be ads free 🤣
