About this app

Some messages and emails are easier to say out loud than to type in full. The same goes for long notes, detailed prompts, and documents that would take a while to type out. Phravia is a voice dictation app with a small, movable microphone button that sits beside your existing keyboard. Tap it and speak. The text goes into the field you're writing in, through an Accessibility service you enable during setup. From there, edit and send as you usually would.

Raw dictation often comes back hard to use: no punctuation, filler words left in, repeated phrases, small grammar issues. Phravia's optional cleanup can help with those — adding punctuation and capitalization, removing common filler words, trimming repetition, and making light grammar corrections.

You choose how your speech gets processed. Offline models can run both transcription and cleanup on your phone, keeping your speech and text on the device. Or you can bring your own API key for a cloud provider — the two steps don't have to match. There's no Phravia server in between, and provider keys stay on your phone.

Phravia supports 75 languages — among them Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Kannada, and Malayalam — though not every language works with every model or provider.

Voice dictation and cleanup are free. No account is needed, and there are no ads.
Some things are just easier to say than type. Let Phravia do the typing.

The app is good, but please improve a few things. The mic position can't be changed after long press, and there's no setting for it. Once recording starts, it should stop automatically or when the mic is pressed again. Currently, I must close the keyboard or app to stop it. Also, please add a custom dictionary so users can save words or names that speech recognition often gets wrong. This would greatly improve usability.

I guess there has been some kind of confusion. The mic button position can be changed, and there is an option to stop the recording automatically or after the mic press as well. I agree that there is no custom dictionary right now, but I am working on it. Please reach out to me through the “Report Issue” button in Settings. There is word limit here

Now that I've figured out how to set it up, I'm finding that the experience is quite good. There's a bit of a learning curve because, unlike the Google microphone that shows the words as you speak, this application doesn't show the words, but then processes them all once you press the microphone button again twice. I'm finding the accuracy quite amazing, and despite choosing English UK, it's understanding my Australian English accent. Thank you

Great app, but I found it lags when you exit the app, and the mic symbol hangs on the screen after you leave the keyboard. It appears in the middle right or in the upper left. and the US letters hang above the mic when you open up the keyboard.

Thanks for the 5-star review. I understand that the keyboard mic button doesn't disappear instantly after you leave the keyboard - that's the fastest it can get, due to an Android limitation. I didn't quite understand the second half of your review. If you are facing any issues, could you report it using "Report Issue" button in the settings?
