SAFETY SERVICES RIGHT ON YOUR PHONE
 
Get family safety services — Roadside Assistance, help in a crash, family locator and Emergency Services — with the OnStar Guardian® app. No matter where you are, we're with you and your family – in any vehicle, even on your motorcycle. Eligible OnStar Members receive the OnStar Guardian app as part of their plan. A standalone plan is only $15 a month. Plus, you can share the app with up to 7 friends or family members at no additional cost.

Mobile Crash Response
•      Crash detection that can send for help automatically
•      Smartphone sensors can detect a car accident and alert an OnStar Advisor

•      Don't get stranded. Get help on the road, jump a dead battery, get assistance with a flat tire — you can even get fuel delivered or request a tow
•      Roadside Assistance for any vehicle or motorcycle
 
Location Status
•      Togetherness when you're apart. The family locator that lets you share and save real-time locations, view a live map, even send departure and arrival notifications
 
Emergency Services
•    Help when it's needed. The red Emergency button provides priority access to an OnStar Emergency Advisor 24/7
•    Get specially trained assistance with medical issues, severe weather and more — all while our Advisors send First Responders to your exact location

U.S. and Canada only. Available on select Android devices. OnStar Guardian service plan, cell reception, GPS signal and device data connection required. May not transmit all crash data. You may cancel at any time by calling 1.888.4ONSTAR (1.888.466.7827).

Location Status services designed to locate compatible smartphones with Location Services permission enabled. Functionality varies by mobile device and plan. Data rates may apply. Terms and limitations apply.

Roadside services provided by third-party providers. Roadside services are for passenger vehicles (cars and trucks) and motorcycles only. Limitations and restrictions apply. Towing services can be used four times per year then additional charges apply. Additional charges apply to tire changes when a spare tire is not provided.  

Up to seven additional individuals can be added to the “My Family” section within the app.

Ratings and reviews

Garbage app. Drains battery hugely just by running in the background. Not able to use battery optimization nor turn off location services. Adults in the family don't necessarily need the app to constantly be running in the background, permissions should be more customizable without the app completely disabling itself if it doesn't have all of the permissions it wants.
