About this app

A tribute to the little digital watch half the planet has owned at least once, rebuilt as a standalone Wear OS watch face. 100% DIGITAL, with no hands at all: a live liquid-crystal panel fills the middle of the printed module, with the weekday and the day of the month on the top row and the big hours, minutes and running seconds along the bottom.

TWO LAYOUTS OF THE SAME WATCH
• CLASSIC: the square F-91W module drawn inside the round screen, with its four corners of case colour around it. The watch as you remember it, in the middle of the display
• ROUND: the same printing spread over the whole disc, and not a zoom of the square one. The module edge becomes the rim, the printing moves out towards it, the accent frames of Grey Blue, Grey Gold and Orange become concentric rings, and the LCD sits centred
Same glyphs, same live panel, same tappable labels in both. Only where they sit changes.

STYLES
Twelve in total: 6 colorways x 2 layouts. Pick yours in the editor and the whole watch changes together: case, module, printing and LCD.

COLORWAYS
• Black: black case and module, grey printing, pale grey LCD
• Blue: navy case and module, pale blue printing, khaki LCD
• Grey Blue: black module framed in grey and blue, gold lettering, red WR
• Grey Gold: black module framed in gold and white, cream lettering, dark red WR
• Orange: full orange case and module with white printing
• White: white case and module, slate grey printing, pale LCD

FEATURES
• 100% DIGITAL: THERE ARE NO HANDS. No hour hand, no minute hand, no seconds hand, no subdials. The time is read off the LCD, like the watch that inspired it
• A LIVE LCD PANEL, not a printed picture: big hours and minutes with their separator, the running seconds in smaller digits beside them, and the weekday and date on the top row
• DAY AND DATE, THE WAY THIS MODULE DOES IT: two letters for the weekday, two digits for the day of the month, leading zero included. No month on that row, like the real watch
• THE LCD FOLLOWS YOUR WATCH: set 12-hour or 24-hour time in Wear OS and the panel switches with it. In 12h the leading zero stays blank and AM or PM lights up, in 24h the zero is drawn and AM/PM goes
• THE WHOLE PRINTED MODULE, in both layouts: CASIO, F-91W, the WR badge and the four button labels
• FOUR TAPPABLE LABELS: LIGHT, MODE, ALARM and ON-OFF each open an app, see below
• Always-On Display friendly: the case and panel hide and only pale silhouettes of the hours, minutes, AM/PM, weekday and date are left on black, around 3.5% lit pixels. The seconds drop out: in ambient the screen refreshes once a minute and they would sit frozen
• Standalone: no phone app needed, and built with Watch Face Format for long battery life

HOW TO USE THE LABELS
Wake the screen first, then tap the label itself:
• LIGHT: opens the flashlight
• MODE: opens your music player
• ALARM: opens your alarms
• ON-OFF: opens your watch Settings
On Black, Blue and White the labels run down the left and right edges of the panel. On Grey Blue, Grey Gold and Orange they sit above and below it. The round layout keeps the same four and moves them out towards the rim. Nothing else on the face is tappable.

HOW TO CUSTOMIZE
Long-press the face and tap Edit, then choose your style.

COMPATIBILITY
Wear OS 5 and later, round displays. No blend modes are used, so it is not limited to 5.1 and runs on a wider range of Wear OS 5 devices. The smartwatch itself is ROUND: the square module is a graphic on the screen, never the shape of the case.
Note for dual-chip watches (OnePlus Watch 3 and similar): their Power Saver mode only runs the maker's own built-in faces, so any third-party watch face works in Smart mode only.
