About this app

OPDSy is a fast, private comic and ebook reader for the books, comics and manga you already host yourself. Connect it to your OPDS servers (Komga, Kavita, Ubooquity, Calibre-Web and more) to browse every source together and start reading in seconds. No account, no ads, and absolutely no tracking.

One library, many servers
Add as many OPDS sources as you like and OPDSy merges them into a single, unified library. Per-source colour badges show at a glance where each book or comic lives, so a large multi-server collection stays easy to navigate. Best of all, each source loads independently, so one slow, unreachable or offline server never breaks the rest of your library, and you can always keep reading.

Built for comics and manga
Comics stream page-by-page over OPDS-PSE with smart prefetching, so the next page is ready before you swipe. Choose paged or continuous vertical-scroll (webtoon) reading, set left-to-right or right-to-left direction for manga and comics, and switch between fit-to-screen and fit-to-width. Turn your device on its side for side-by-side dual-page spreads that read like a real book, and double-tap or pinch to zoom into detailed artwork.

Listen to your books (text-to-speech)
Prefer to listen? OPDSy reads your ebooks aloud with your device's text-to-speech engine, flowing naturally sentence by sentence and continuing automatically from one chapter to the next. Fine-tune the speaking speed and pitch, and pick the voice you like best from the on-device (offline) voices or higher-quality online voices, browsable by language. Ideal for hands-free reading and accessibility.

A proper reading experience
Pick up exactly where you left off with Continue Reading, which remembers your place across every source. Mark books and folders as favourites for one-tap access from your home screen, track your progress as you read, and enjoy a clean, distraction-free reader for both comics and ebooks. The ebook reader adds adjustable fonts, line spacing and comfortable page themes: light, sepia and OLED-friendly dark. Read in portrait or landscape, whichever suits you. Your favourites and recent items stay visible even when a server is temporarily offline.

Read offline, anywhere
Download comics and books straight to your device and read them with no connection at all, on the train, on a plane, or off the grid. Downloads resume automatically if interrupted, and your saved titles are always ready when you are.

Private by design, zero tracking
Your reading is nobody's business but yours. OPDSy has no accounts, no ads, no third-party analytics and no tracking of any kind. We never see what you read, and collect no data about you at all. It connects only to the self-hosted servers you choose, and your credentials are stored securely in your device keychain, never sent to us. Optional cross-device sync is fully end-to-end encrypted, readable only by you.

The successor to Kuboo
OPDSy is the resilient, multi-source spiritual successor to the much-loved but discontinued Kuboo, rebuilt from the ground up for reliability, speed and privacy, and actively maintained.
