This app never shuts down its constantly running in the background. Telling it to "stop" doesn't matter and force closing it doesn't matter either because it starts again within a couple hours without even being used. I have to use this to get into work and into employee only accessible areas and most of the time it tells me I'm not near the area I need to get into even standing right in front of it. I shouldn't have to use location just Bluetooth to connect to the sensor but app doesn't work.

Edit: I appreciate the response from dev. It is still a bit frustrating bc there's a warning that says "fix permissions" as if something is broken, that results in constant access. Had to disable all warnings, not just that one. This app does not give you an option to run only when open. Once you install this app, the only way to stop it is by forcing it to stop in your system settings otherwise it is permanently in your currently running apps list. I've never seen an app like that before.

Hi Ben! This is actually due to the wave to unlock feature and how it interacts with the latest Android OS. Our Engineers are working with Android to address this. You can disable that by following the steps on this guide, https://opcx.org/38yp3az —UPDATE: Thank you for the update, Ben! We’re releasing a new update soon that should address this.
Required by my office. It's really annoying that it needs to stay on constantly with always on permissions to work instead of only when open. The only option is between constantly on, running your battery and processor or a cumbersome process of enabling/disabling several permissions at least 2x a day. And while I understand the location permission is just the Android permissions hierarchy, that it must be always on that's problematic to me. The old key card worked just fine.

Thank you for the feedback, Kevin! The always-on behavior is actually just how the wave-to-unlock feature interacts with the latest Android OS. You can disable that by following the steps in this guide, https://opcx.org/38yp3az. You would just need to open the app every time you need to unlock an entry.
