Messages Launcher: SMS combines two Android experiences: a carrier SMS/MMS messenger and an optional home-screen launcher.
Use the messaging side for conversations, attachments, scheduled messages and local SMS backup. Use the launcher side to reach apps, shortcuts and compatible widgets from a custom Android home screen.
No separate login is required.
MESSAGING THROUGH YOUR MOBILE CARRIER
Messaging functions become available after you select Messages Launcher as your default SMS app in Android.
Open message threads, write and send texts, reply to contacts and receive incoming-message notifications.
On compatible multi-SIM phones, choose from available SIMs for outgoing messages. Message support, delivery and charges remain subject to your carrier, device and subscription plan.
SEARCH, PIN, ARCHIVE AND BLOCK
Search message text when you need to find a conversation quickly. Available conversation categories provide another way to browse messages.
Pin important threads, archive conversations from the main inbox and adjust local read or unread status.
You can manually block unwanted conversations. Recognised one-time codes can also be copied using the available copy action.
These features organise message content only. They are not account-verification or financial-service features.
SHARE SUPPORTED CONTENT
Use Android's system picker to choose supported images, video or audio for your message. A compatible camera app can be opened to capture a new photo, and contact details can also be selected for inclusion.
Optional location sharing requires approximate-location access and adds a map link to the draft.
Review the destination contacts and selected content before tapping send.
SCHEDULE A TEXT
Write now and prepare the message for a later time. Pending schedule data and references to selected attachments are kept locally on the device.
A schedule can be cancelled while it is still pending.
Some Android versions may ask for exact-alarm access. Even when scheduled, the message can only be sent when the required SMS role and permissions remain available and the device has an active SIM and network.
Because these conditions can change, sending at an exact second or minute is not guaranteed.
MANUAL LOCAL BACKUP
Backup and restore is available through the Messages navigation menu.
Select a folder using Android's file picker and create a JSON backup with Backup now. To restore, choose a compatible file, check the displayed SMS count and confirm.
Backups include SMS text messages. MMS attachments are not included. There is also no automatic scheduled-backup feature.
Messages Launcher must temporarily remain the default SMS app while creating or restoring backups.
When restoration completes, you can keep it as default or open Android settings and choose another SMS app. Switching defaults does not erase SMS messages already imported into the system message store.
The app does not encrypt its backup files. Save them somewhere you trust.
TURN IT INTO YOUR HOME SCREEN
Choose Messages Launcher separately as the device Home app to enable its launcher.
Open installed applications from the drawer, organise shortcuts, keep favourite apps accessible and place supported widgets through the included Android widget picker.
Clock and date information is shown on the home screen, with convenient access to messaging and composing.
Choosing the app as Home does not automatically make it the default SMS app.
ADVERTISING AND DATA
The app includes ads. Advertising technology, analytics information and crash reports are handled according to the published Privacy Policy and Data safety section.
SMS and MMS are not end-to-end encrypted. Default applications and permissions can be managed through Android settings.
