About this app

Pull down Quick Settings, tap the tile, and the calculator floats over whatever you were looking at. No opening and closing an app.

■ It stays on top of what you were doing
· Right from the Quick Settings tile — no trip to the home screen
· Floats on top of any app. Drag the window anywhere, in two sizes
· Touch the app underneath and the window goes translucent so you can see through it. Touch it again and it comes back, numbers intact

■ Tuck it away as a dot
· Tap Minimize and the window folds into a small circle. The screen stays clear, and the circle can be dragged anywhere
· Tap the circle and it opens back up at the same size. Whatever you were typing is still there

■ Unit prices for grocery shopping
· $12.90 for 200 g and $28.50 for 500 g — type 12.90 ÷ 200 =, tap the answer and send it to A: quantity 200 and price 12.90 land in that row
· Fill two rows and it says which one is cheaper, and by how much — "B is 11.6% cheaper"
· Type the unit with the number, like "1kg" or "16oz", and it lines them up — g, kg, oz, lb, ml, L and fl oz. Weight against volume cannot be compared, so it says so instead of guessing
· Per-gram prices under a dime stay apart — 0.0645 and 0.057, not 0.06 and 0.06
· Need more than two? Tap "＋ Row"

■ The expression stays
· What you just typed stays above the answer — a wrong tap shows right there
· Your last five calculations with their expressions. Tap a line to bring that value back, and they are still there after you close the window
· Long-press the result to copy it

■ A home screen widget
· Tap it right on your home screen without opening the app. The expression shows there too
· Resize it and the digits grow with it. What you calculate in the widget lands in the same history

■ It tells you what is left to set up
· If "Display over other apps" is off or the Quick Settings tile is not added yet, one line at the bottom of the window shows those two steps. It disappears once they are done
· Set this app's language on its own, apart from your phone's — Android 13 and up

■ What it does not have
· No ads
· No account, no sign-in
· No subscriptions, no purchases
· It never asks for internet permission — it structurally cannot send anything

■ Worth knowing
· The only permission it uses is "Display over other apps"
· The Quick Settings tile has to be added once, by you — the app walks you to that spot

I built it for myself. The app I had used for years disappeared from the store, so I rebuilt it, and published it in case someone else needs the same thing.
