OUTBREAK: ECHOES is Humans vs Infected in a real park. Phones stay in pockets. Earbuds and GPS do the work.
HOST a lobby. Friends JOIN with a 6-letter code or the host QR. Play online, or HOST OFFLINE on a hotspot when the park has no cell service.
HOW IT PLAYS
• Walk a real outdoor zone. Stay inside the GPS circle.
• Audio-first: your heartbeat warns you. Do not stare at the screen while moving.
• HUMANS: stay alive. Pocket the phone after Zero Hour. Flare blinds Infected radar and BREAKS a bite for about 8 seconds — they must start a fresh hold. Decoy drops fake sprint sound. Hold still on yellow crates to loot.
• INFECTED: hunt by sound. Radar shows footsteps and flares — not live GPS dots of humans. Bluetooth pocket-range is the bite; GPS is backup. Scent follows a sprint trail ahead of you, not whoever is nearest. Hunt Vision paints a short ghost and ground prints from that audio — never a live pin.
• Patient Zero and newly bitten stay hidden as humans until they TURN. They cannot infect until Turn.
• LAST STAND: the zone shrinks, survivors get extra flares, an extract beacon may open.
SAFETY
Physical outdoor play for teens and adults. Never shove, grab, or chase anyone into traffic. Do not touch other players. Strobe flares can affect people with photosensitivity — skip strobes if that is you. Watch for terrain, bikes, and bystanders.
PERMISSIONS
Precise location (including in the background during a match, while the phone is pocketed) is required for infection distance, park boundaries, and crates. Bluetooth is for pocket-range proximity when GPS is weak under trees. Camera is for flashlight strobes, Hunt Vision, Night Cam, and scanning the host QR — photos and video are not uploaded. Location is shared only with players in your match. It is not used for ads.
