RemBridge is a minimal sleep tracker built to work alongside Lucid Dream Trainer. It monitors your sleep overnight using your phone's accelerometer, with the screen off, and detects REM sleep phases.
When REM is detected, RemBridge sends a signal to Lucid Dream Trainer to trigger a TLR (targeted lucidity reminder) cue, timed to help you become lucid without waking you up.
RemBridge has been tested with the phone placed on the mattress, about 50 cm (20 in) from the user, screen off, not charging. This placement is required for accurate detection: if the phone is on a nightstand, chair, or any surface away from your body, the accelerometer won't be able to sense your movements and REM detection won't work correctly.
Key features:
- Automatic REM detection based on movement patterns
- Self-calibrating sensitivity: after 7 valid nights of data, RemBridge suggests refined detection thresholds tailored to your own movement patterns
- Night summary with a sleep quality score
- A short "How was your night?" check-in each morning, used to calibrate your sleep quality score. If you report a poor night ("No"), that night is excluded from the valid-nights count used for calibration
- No microphone, no account, no server: everything stays on your device
RemBridge does not replace medical sleep monitoring and is not a diagnostic tool. It's a companion app designed for lucid dreaming practice.
