Content is excellent. I don't mind paying the $5 monthly contribution to support PBS. The actual app, however, is not that great. The search function is not user friendly and the app doesn't seem to remember what show you were watching last. The shows are organized in such a way that makes discovering new content difficult. I give this app five stars for content and one star for overall design, an average of three. 🤷🏻
The content is great. The search UI is clunky, but usable. But the replay performance on a ChromeCast is close to intolerable: the replay stutters up to a few times a minute, and replays the last 5-30 seconds. Disappointing - and frustrating.
This app is SO buggy. I frequently have to uninstall and reinstall to get it to work, and that doesn't always help. So frustrating. I love being a member of whyy, and getting to watch pbs shows is one of the perks, but not if i can't get the app to work!!
I was happy to make the donation to acquire the Passport, but I'm unhappy with the app. Very buggy playback with Chromecast. Lots of lags and skipping. Also, some of the content on the PBS website isn't available on the app. Latest episodes of PBS NewsHour, for instance. Why not? Sure hope these things can be corrected soon.
Never works. Continuously has problems running. Sad, I really enjoy the documentaries, but can never get to watch them
frequently won't cast at all using chromecast. I would love to support pbs but come on now. get the bugs fixed already
