BACKYARD BASEBALL RULES
The rules for Backyard Baseball are a hybrid of Pro and Little League rules:
No leading off
No Injuries
Bunting is allowed
Tagging up is allowed
Stealing is allowed

At our core, we are fans first–not just of video games but of the Backyard Sports franchise. Fans have asked for accessible and legal ways to play their original Backyard titles for years, and we are excited to deliver. Without having access to the source code, there are hard limitations on the experience we can create. Backyard Baseball '97 runs buttery smooth for iOS devices, looks better than ever, and creates a new installation for digital preservation within the Backyard Sports catalog that allows the next generation of fans to fall in love with the title that started it all.
Heads-up! This version of the game is English-only for now. We're listening to feedback and hope to support more languages in the future!

Mostly great and the gameplay is good and exactly as I remember .Game crashes every once in a while and doesn't save which is frustrating. Some of the settings don't stay saved so you have to double check before each game. Also, you can't turn off the sound effects which is mildly annoying. I would like to see implementation of some of later backyard baseball games, such as picking your own home field for season play.

Hi, Andy! Thanks for flagging that issue! Please know that we're always trying to make the game better. With that, it would be a massive help in getting this sorted if you could fill out this bug report form: https://bit.ly/BYB97BRLP. We appreciate your patience while we work on a fix, and we're doing our best to get it right. Thanks again!

A little clunky but the same classic. The point and click nature of the game means it plays no different it just feels a little less precise than with a keyboard and mouse. The only real issue I have with it is pitching. With no cursor I have no idea of what the swing spot for that pitch will be until I've already locked in the pitch. Maybe have the swing spot dead center in the strike zone to give a better idea of what we're working with when we choose a pitch would work great.

I loved it and brought back so many memories. Couple things tho, there's a slight delay from click to swing. I can't play more than 1 season, and then it stays on world tour. I've let it play through 3 or 4 times and I can't start a new season. I feel like I remember there being batting practice with Mr. Clanky. That might've been in the 2001 version or not at all. Also, how do I unlock Mr. Clanky to play with him?

Thanks for the heads-up, Jet! We're working hard to smooth out any bumps in the game. If you could fill out this quick bug report, it'd really help us get to the bottom of things: https://bit.ly/BYB97BRLP. To unlock Mr. Clanky, you just need to tap him once and he should be available on the pickup game only!
