Philips DreamMapper has access to the following permissions:

Approximate location (network-based): This is to set up Bluetooth communication. A location is required to acquire the pair.

Read the contents of your USB storage: This is needed to access the scanned and stored image that the camera takes of the Device Serial Number (DSN).

Read the contents of your USB storage: This is a way to access the DSN image that might be stored on the SD card (some Androids devices store images to the SD card). This is the default behavior when you ask for the Photo/Media/Files access.

Take pictures and videos: Used to scan the DSN.

Other reasons
Receive data from Internet: DreamMapper needs to communicate with its Data Center.
View network connections: Wi-Fi setup as well as the need for DreamMapper to communicate with its Data Center.
Pair with Bluetooth devices: First-time connection to another Bluetooth device.
Access Bluetooth settings: First-time connection to another Bluetooth device.
Full network access: DreamMapper needs to communicate with its Data Center.
Prevent device from sleeping: Prevents the phone from “going to sleep” while playing videos.

Why have the reviews? No one from Phillips replies or reads them. Same excessive disconects from last reviethe app report shows 10 to 17 disconects per night. There is no way that is correct. This defect started a couple of weeks ago. I am wondering if I am getting the correct therapy. Thumbs down on the Dreamstation two. 👎 It was working great. I have a new phone (Android) and the app will not connect to the unit. I had no issues with connecting to my vehicle so it's not my phone. Frustrating.

(edited) Nothing but a splash screen this week. 2023-06-28 Update: App will only occasionally connect to device on my Samsung S20 Galaxy Note. Support is useless and new person each time does not read history of conversation. I would like to see the data, but even when downloaded, only a week of historical trend can be seen at one time. The app has never gotten an upgrade in functionality in the five or so years I have used it. 2024-01-11: Connecting to device now working consistently.

Totally useless. Device pairs with phone via Bluetooth, but refuses to ever connect via the app. Literally does nothing. Ever. Tried a good dozen resets and reinstalls, waste of space and time. Concerning that developer(s) are this inept. Clearly, not the only one having these issues.
