About this app

We made The Phonics App for absolutely anyone who want to read using phonics.

You can learn the a-z sounds and how to blend two letter words completely free - but we hope you will subscribe to learn all the other sounds in the English language and practise with over 400 words.

Why did we make this app?

Jonny is a father of two and started making this app to teach his kids to read. It worked really well So he showed it to Claire (a teacher of phonics teachers and phonics influencer) to see if it would be useful to other people. She said yes, and had a lot of ideas how to make it better! So they spent AGES making 'The Phonics App' - and now it's finally done!

An app I am genuinely happy with my child using. He is in reception and happily blending and reading digraphs and trigraphs he hasn't yet been taught at school but has just learned through this app. Really stands out as a thoughtful and useful way of avoiding getting lost in piles of flashcards, and ensuring the right sounds are being taught without using addictive flashy elements! Entirely worth the purchase price

Great, easy to download app. Only the single letters are free, but a small subscription is required after. I will use this and update my review further after use.

very frustrating how you have to subscribe to everything!!! My daughter is in year 2 and has some gaps in her learning so I'm trying my best to help. Saw the TikTok post and some videos and thought it's going to be amazing!! phase 3 and 5 phonics and alternative sounds.. just what we need. But nope have to pay!
