About this app

Pianovera turns a piano piece into colourful notes falling towards a keyboard. It is the most direct way to learn piano: you see every note coming, you understand where to put your fingers, and you play — on the touchscreen or on your MIDI keyboard.

LEARN PIANO AT YOUR OWN PACE
Three ways to work on a piece:
• Free play — listen and watch the notes fall, to discover the piece.
• Wait for you to play — playback stops on every note until you play the right one. Ideal for a beginner: no pressure, you move at your own speed.
• Scored scrolling — it scrolls at tempo and your playing is scored, to test yourself.

FIFTY CLASSICS ALREADY INCLUDED
Für Elise, Clair de Lune, Gymnopédie No. 1, the Turkish March, Nocturne Op. 9 No. 2, Bach's Prelude in C major, The Entertainer... Fifty public-domain pieces are built in, sorted by level: beginner, intermediate, advanced. Nothing to download, nothing to buy.

A PIANO COURSE BUILT IN
Progressive exercises are generated inside the app: five-finger position, major and minor scales, chords, arpeggios, Hanon-style finger drills. Every exercise shows the fingering note by note, like a piano tutorial walking you through step by step.

OPEN YOUR OWN MIDI FILES
Got a .mid file on your phone? Open it and it comes alive straight away. Pianovera reads standard MIDI files, separates the left and right hand into two colours, and honours the sustain pedal so the sound stays natural.

A REAL CONCERT PIANO
The sound does not come from a synthesiser. Each of the 88 keys was sampled on a grand piano, with three velocity layers: a note brushed softly does not sound like a note struck hard, and that is what makes playing feel alive.

OFFLINE, AND NO DATA COLLECTED
Pianovera works with no connection. No account, no adverts, no trackers. Your progress stays on your phone and is never sent anywhere.
