About this app

Offline Calendar displays and edits the events stored in calendars already present on the device, and does not create a calendar of its own. The application requires no account, no sign-in, and no internet permission, keeps no database of its own, and contains no advertising, analytics, or crash reporting.

Calendar views
• A month view presented as a continuously scrolling grid of weeks
• Week and day views on an hourly grid, with overlapping events divided into columns
• A year overview of twelve months, with the days that contain events marked
• An agenda list that extends as it is scrolled in either direction
• Direct navigation to any date, and a preview of a single day from the month grid

Repeating events
Events repeat daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly, or follow a custom rule with selected weekdays, an interval, and an end date or occurrence count. When a repeating event is edited or deleted, the application asks which occurrences the change applies to: one occurrence, that occurrence and every later one, or the whole series. A change to the repeat rule itself applies to that occurrence and every later one, or to the whole series.

Search
• Search across event titles, notes, and locations
• Filters for date range, calendar, event type, and searched field
• Suggestions drawn only from titles already stored on the device

Calendar files
Calendar files in the .ics format are imported and exported through the system file picker, so the application requires no storage permission and opens only the file that is selected. Before an import is written, a preview states the number of events found and the entries skipped as incomplete, and offers a choice of destination calendar and of duplicate handling. Event colours are preserved in both directions.

Home screen widgets
Agenda, month, and week widgets are included. Each widget is configured with its own selection of calendars, and the agenda and week widgets have a setting that hides event titles.

Appearance and settings
The light and dark themes follow the system setting or a fixed choice, with an optional pure black dark theme and, on Android 12 and later, optional colours taken from the wallpaper. The first day of the week, the default event length, and the default reminder are configurable. An optional setting blocks screenshots and hides the application from the recent apps preview.

Note: reminders are saved with each event, but this application posts no notifications; reminder alerts appear only when another calendar application on the device shows them.

Permissions and their purpose
• Read calendar: displays, searches, and exports the events stored in the device's calendars
• Write calendar: creates, edits, deletes, and imports events, and is requested the first time an event is created, changed, or deleted, or a file is imported

The application does not request internet, network state, contacts, location, camera, microphone, phone, SMS, notifications, alarms, nearby devices, or any storage or media permission. Application data backup and device-to-device transfer are disabled. Privacy policy: Calendar privacy policy.
