About this app

Offline Keyboard is an on-screen keyboard that suggests, corrects and inserts saved text entirely on the device. It declares no internet permission, requires no account, and contains no advertising or analytics.

Typing
• Word suggestions, autocorrection and next-word prediction from built-in dictionaries for English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian and Spanish
• Keyboard layouts for more than 60 languages, plus Dvorak, Colemak and PC alphabet layouts
• Automatic capitalisation and a double-space full stop, each of which can be switched off
• An emoji palette grouped by category
• Layouts for phones and tablets, in portrait and landscape

Personalised suggestions
Personalised suggestions are off by default. When they are switched on, words are learned only on the device and never from password fields, email or web addresses, search boxes, names, postal addresses, number fields, or any field that asks not to be remembered. Recently used emoji are kept only under the same setting.

Snippets
Snippets are phrases saved in the keyboard's settings, such as an address or a standard reply. A key on the keyboard opens the saved list, and a single tap inserts a snippet. Snippets can be pinned and reordered, and they are held in the app's private storage. The keyboard does not read the clipboard and keeps no clipboard history, and the snippet key is not offered in password fields.

Appearance and layout
• Five built-in themes: System default, Light, Dark, Black and Ocean
• A Custom theme with a chosen background, key, key text, accent and key border colour
• A choice of key font from the fonts already on the device
• Keyboard height adjustable from 70% to 160%
• An optional permanent row of numbers above the letters
• Spacebar cursor control: sliding along the spacebar moves the cursor one character at a time, with an optional vibration for each step

Privacy
The app has no internet permission, so nothing typed with it can be transmitted. Settings, snippets and learned words remain in the app's private storage and are excluded from cloud backup and device-to-device transfer. The privacy policy and the full list of open-source components are included in the app under Settings, About, and can be read without a network connection.

Permissions and their purpose
• Vibration: provides the optional short vibration on each key press and on each step of spacebar cursor control.

This app does not request internet, network state, contacts, accounts, location, camera, microphone, storage, notification or advertising identifier access.
