IPD Measure estimates your pupillary distance (PD) in seconds, using just your phone's front camera — entirely on your device. Nothing is uploaded. Nothing is tracked.
Your PD is the distance between the centers of your pupils, in millimeters. It's something glasses opticians measure, and something VR/AR headsets ask you to know when calibrating.
WHY ON-DEVICE?
The iris is biologically consistent across adults — about 11.7 mm in horizontal diameter. IPD Measure uses Google's MediaPipe iris-tracking model, running locally, to detect your irises and use that known size as an in-frame ruler. Three short readings are averaged for stability.
PRIVACY-FIRST
• Camera frames are processed on your device only.
• No frames, photos, or measurements ever leave your phone.
• No account. No analytics. No tracking.
• No internet connection required to measure.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Hold your phone at arm's length and look at the focus dot.
2. Stay still for three seconds while we capture a reading.
3. Repeat three times — we average the results for accuracy.
If you blink or shift, the timer pauses and resumes automatically. The result appears in millimeters as soon as the third reading is complete.
USE CASES
• Ordering glasses online and need to know your PD
• Calibrating a VR or AR headset
• Curiosity about your own measurements
IMPORTANT
IPD Measure produces an estimate, not a medical or prescription-grade measurement. Accuracy depends on lighting and how square-on you face the camera. For prescription eyewear or any official documentation, always consult a licensed optician.
