About this app

Aqara Home is an app for smart home automation and control. With Aqara Home, you can:
1. control Aqara accessories anywhere and anytime where there is Internet access;
2. create homes and rooms and assign accessories to the rooms;
3. control your Aqara accessories and check the status of connected appliances. For example:
• adjust the brightness of lights and check the power consumption of home appliances;
• monitor the temperature, humidity and air pressure;
• detect water leak, and human movement.
4. create Automations to automate your home. For example:
• set a timer to turn on or off an appliance connected to a smart plug;
• use a Door and Window Sensor to trigger lights: turn on lights automatically when the door opens.
5. create Scenes to control multiple accessories. For example, add a Scene to turn on multiple lights and fans;

Still won't work with Google home as controller. Always comes back claiming there are no matter controllers in the network even though the device is already attached to one which the app should know since it asked for the pairing code. The hardware is nice. Too bad the software is so bad. And the only way to update the software on the device is via this broken app so you're stuck.

Incredible that in 2026 I’m returning a presence sensor because the app is too primitive to handle a modern Orbi router. No manual Wi-Fi entry and no way to override band-steering makes setup impossible. If you have a mesh system where you can't easily kill the 5GHz band, don't bother. I’ve wasted hours walking around my yard trying to force a 2.4GHz connection. Unacceptable UX. Returning immediately.

Whenever I open the app, it will ask me multiple times to give it permission to access my phone's storage. I have no reason to allow that, and saying no once should be sufficient. Also, connecting to locks via Bluetooth is difficult. Usually takes a few times, and for some reason requires access to your location? Aqara needs to ask for less permissions, and ask only once.
