Like old Instagram, no ads, and a clean feed. However, there are not many users, so you're basically posting for yourself (which is a positive for some, like myself). I don't find myself doom scrolling, so that's refreshing from other apps. I do wish there was a better explore type feature, so I could see more diverse content.

Definitely rusty at least for Android. Buttons don't always click, pictures don't always load in Discovery. but looking forward to the potential of this app as many of us feel overwhelmed with Meta's aggressive algorithm. Pixelfed offers a return to what Instagram used to be before being absorbed by the Facebook giant - a place to share your images with friends or the public, and have your feed filled with the same - not ads. Keep it up.

When selecting an image you can look in "albums" which is a very limited set of folders with no way to add more, plus "favorites" (or starred files), but that's always empty even though I have many starred files. The "edit photo" feature flat-out doesn't work. I have to do all my cropping in another app before uploading because the app just won't. When replying to comments the "post" and other buttons are rendered behind the phone nav buttons and are inaccessible.
