REACTION TIME TEST — WHAT IT MEASURES
Reaction time is the gap between a stimulus and a response. Simple reaction time (one signal, one button) averages around 200-250 ms for healthy adults. The test here uses six trials and takes the median to reduce the effect of lucky single taps or momentary distraction. False starts — pressing before the signal — are counted, not excluded, because excluding them rewards guessing. The reaction rank is drawn from a published dataset of 7,130 adults, so the comparison is to real data, not to a leaderboard.
VISUAL MEMORY SPAN — HOW THE TEST WORKS
A grid of squares lights up in a sequence. You watch, then repeat the sequence by tapping the same squares in order. Each correct round adds one more square to the sequence. The score is your visual memory span — the number of items you can hold and recall in order. This is a version of a spatial working memory test used in cognitive research. No time pressure; difficulty comes entirely from sequence length.
LOGIC TEST — MATRIX REASONING
Each puzzle shows a 3×3 grid with one cell missing. The cells follow rules — rotation, mirroring, progression in shading, combination of elements, alternation of pattern. Your task is to pick the cell from four options that completes the grid. Difficulty comes from how many rules run at once, not from a clock. This measures fluid reasoning — the ability to identify patterns without prior knowledge of the specific material.

Athletes use reaction time tests to benchmark performance and track recovery after fatigue or concussion. Older adults take the test as a personal benchmark year over year. Students take it after poor sleep to see the effect on their cognitive profile. The three-part format — reaction, memory, logic — gives a more complete picture than a single-number estimate.
COGNITIVE SPEED AND WORKING MEMORY — WHAT AFFECTS YOUR SCORE
Reaction time is fastest in the late morning, slowest in the first hour after waking. Caffeine shortens it by 10–30 ms on average. Fatigue and alcohol slow it significantly.
