10/27/2017 Still says invalid password/username Openvpn app still works with same password/username 10/12/2017 No change, no app updates. Been using Openvpn app, works fine with exact same credentials. Old review: With the last update it won't acknowledge my Username... Worked fine (4 or 5 stars) until then. Computer version works fine. Have a request in to support, I'll raise my stars if they get it fixed.
I've been using PIA for a few years now and is the best $34 i spend once a year. I also use a Google phones (Nexus 6 and Pixel XL) so i have Googles VPN when it kicks in but most of the time i have PIA taking care of my needs. The no logging is what attracted me to PIA. Very few and i mean very few VPN's have this. The other thing is you can use PIA on your PC , laptop, and all your tablets and phones for the low price of $34/year.
The app isn't working as it should. Lately when I try to log in, the app says my username is invalid. This means I have to reboot my device constantly to getting PIA to work. When it starts working and its connected a server, it cuts off the internet connection and displays ''IP Resolving' when its on automatic. Really disappointing.
Doesnt seem to fully working with the main Chrome OS. Chrome still list my Ipv6 address when I have the app on and the chrome addon is turn off. When I turn on the addon from the chrome browser it then fully masks the IP address. So the Android app of PIA on ChromeOS is still not supported fully. The Extension is still needed for chromebooks either way.
Something has run afoul in recent updates. (1) It is now consistently the second largest consumer of my phone's battery, after the screen. (2) It nearly never re-establishes a private connection to a server when switching between WiFi to mobile data, or back again. I always have to toggle the VPN off and on. I've even let it sit for 30 minutes, my commute, waiting for it to reconnect to a server. The moment I toggle it, works. Update: it's now consuming 50% of my phone's battery consistently. (3) now I always have to stop it from reconnecting whenever I switch between mobile and WiFi.
The VPN service itself is great, and the app used to be, but for some reason now it's draining my battery even more than the screen. It didn't used to be this way, a recent update changed something. It's to the point I can't even use the app anymore because it's just too much of a drain on my battery over the course of the day. If I can't use the app then I guess I'll just have to cancel my subscription unless you guys can fix this soon
Fixes an application crash when the VPN is disconnected if API responses are artificially changed to exhaust system resources.
