The privacy side of it works just fine. I give that a thumbs up. But two thumbs down when it comes to speed. I have a 50mbps plan. And always run 45mbps up to 55mbps. The highest speed i was able to clock while running PIA VPN was 11mbps. Which aint bad i can still stream. Yesterday all my speed checks while running PIA was barely clocking 3mbps .. They are one of the most affordable and maybe that is why. Just like anything else though. You get whay you pay for! I might have to use another service. Was leaning toward ip vanish.. I would like to keep pia. Bit may have to jump ship..
Disappointed. You weren't able to ramp up the servers with the amount of new people signing up, due to your stunts. Now I'm lucky to get 10mbps, on any server in Europe. Though sometimes it just throws me to an American server, even though i connected to France. Switching to Nord in couple of days, with over 150days of my subscription left. But, you know, keep the money. You need it more rn.
The latest update is still not working correctly. Speed is too slow, app crashes after phone sleeps or changes from wifi to phone data. Ping times don't show. Now ruined, slow and unreliable, but PIA ignore customers who keep reporting the same problems. We can't ALL be wrong. Customer Service is terrible.
Excellent. The best and easiest to use. The app handles VPN connections on Android better than the native Android manager. Removing one star for weakness in the face of geo-snooping. This app won't cloak your location from the spooks or the Chinese government: it can't even cloak you from Netflix. But still a solid app.
It used to be good with very close to real speeds. Lately I am lucky to get 20mb/s with PIA on, when I get 180mb/s with it off. I lose 90% of my speed and no where to complain on the app. If I could get a refund I would take it and go to another VPN service that keeps things working as they should.
The service itself is great, and this app works well. Very easy to start and stop. I like the icon in the notification area for controlling the app. I especially am glad to have it when I'm using a free public WiFi connection. I never want to have to trust that somebody's guest network is secure. Good to be able to select specific apps that won't go through the VPN, like Netflix, which doesn't allow VPNs to access their service.
