About this app

ProDetector is an Android GPS application designed for metal detectorists, built to help with navigation, location tracking, and responsible detecting.

The app displays a live map with your current location and allows you to save custom points directly on the map using different icons such as coin, ring, gold nugget, car, or question mark. Each saved point can be freely renamed based on your find or purpose.

With the Go To feature, you can navigate toward any saved point by following the displayed direction. This is especially useful in forests or open fields with no clear landmarks. The Car marker can be used as a reference point to easily return to your starting location.

ProDetector includes an internal database of Romanian archaeological sites. By pressing the Check button, the app compares your current position with restricted areas and informs you whether you are inside a protected zone, using a user-defined radius between 100 and 500 meters.

Additional features include:

Take photos directly from the app, saved to the gallery with GPS location and date

Record your movement path (REC / STOP) to avoid scanning the same area twice

Export and back up saved locations for viewing later in Google Maps

Adjustable safety radius and map-related settings

Support for restricted-area maps in other countries (UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, France) is planned for future updates.
