Consecutive strikes reveal whether the storm is approaching or moving away,

📒 STRIKE LOG
Every measurement is kept — distance, time, flash-to-bang, GPS pin — and
exports as CSV whenever you want it, your complete history, free or not.

🔬 THE SCIENCE
Distance comes from the temperature-corrected speed of sound (331.3 + 0.606×T
m/s), not a fixed constant — cold air carries thunder slower than warm air,
and that difference adds up over a few miles. Temperature comes from live
local conditions when location is on, or a standard 20°C/68°F otherwise.
Storm trend uses a least-squares regression across your last 30 minutes of
strikes rather than comparing the last two — a single stray reading can't
flip approaching to receding.

🔒 PRIVATE BY DESIGN
All flash and thunder detection runs entirely on your phone — your camera and
mic data never leave the device. Location is optional, used only to GPS-tag
photos, pull live temperature, and center the map on you.

⚠️ LIGHTNING SAFETY FIRST
Strike Analyzer is not a safety device. Flash-to-bang distances are estimates
and can be wrong. Never use this app to decide whether it's safe to stay
outdoors.

If you can hear thunder, you're close enough to be struck. Follow the
National Weather Service guidance: When Thunder Roars, Go Indoors — and stay
there until 30 minutes after the last thunder.
