About this app

iShredder™ – military‑grade data eraser & file shredder for Android
Securely erase and permanently delete photos, files and empty space so deleted data becomes extremely difficult to recover — even with recovery apps or forensic tools. Run a wipe before you sell, trade in, recycle, repair or hand over your device. Ideal for “data wipe before selling your phone” scenarios and for anyone who wants privacy‑first secure delete.

WHY NORMAL DELETION ISN’T ENOUGH
On Android, “delete” often removes only directory entries. The underlying data blocks can remain on storage and may be recovered later. Even a basic factory reset may leave traces of previously stored content. iShredder overwrites empty space and selected areas multiple times using certified methods, helping remove traces of old data (not just “hidden”). This is especially useful after you’ve deleted many files or uninstalled apps.

CERTIFIED, MILITARY‑GRADE ERASURE
Choose wiping methods based on trusted standards such as DoD 5220.22‑M, NIST SP 800‑88, BSI TL‑03423 and more. These algorithms overwrite data with carefully chosen patterns to make recovery extremely difficult.

The Android app has been independently audited and awarded DEKRA MASA L1 security certification (aligned with OWASP MASVS Level 1). iShredder also received the Fortress Cybersecurity Award 2025, highlighting both robust erasure methods and strong app security.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT WIPE METHOD
Pick a fast one‑pass wipe for everyday cleanup, or select stricter multi‑pass methods when handling highly sensitive data. You control what gets wiped and how thorough the overwrite should be.

KEY FEATURES
• Securely erase sensitive data: photos, videos, documents, downloads and folders
• Wipe empty space to overwrite remnants of previously deleted data (internal storage & supported SD cards)
• Clean app caches and junk securely: hidden caches, logs, temporary files and thumbnails
• Built‑in file explorer: select exactly what you want to shred
• Multiple certified deletion algorithms: fast one‑pass to strict multi‑pass
• Detailed erasure reports after each wipe (useful for audits and privacy policies, including GDPR‑aligned processes)
• BYOD & shared device wipe: remove work data before return, reassignment or handover

TYPICAL USE CASES
• Prepare your phone for resale or trade‑in with a documented wipe.
• Securely delete private photos, videos and documents that must not be recovered.
• Remove traces from empty space after uninstalling apps and deleting files.
• Clean work data from corporate phones, tablets or BYOD devices.
• Get a wipe report for device handover, inventory rotation or internal policies.

EASY 3‑STEP WIPE
1) Select what to erase: files, folders, app data, empty space or storage areas.
2) Choose a certified deletion algorithm.
3) Start the wipe — iShredder overwrites data and generates an erasure report for your records.

BEST PRACTICE TIP
After large cleanups (many deleted files, gallery cleanup, or app removals), run an empty‑space wipe. This helps reduce residual data blocks that recovery tools often scan.

FOR BUSINESS, IT & PUBLIC SECTOR
Use erasure reports to support device handover, onboarding/offboarding and repeatable secure disposal workflows. iShredder can help teams document secure wipe procedures as part of internal security and privacy requirements.

PRIVACY & SECURITY BY DESIGN
Connections to Protectstar services use modern TLS encryption. The app avoids unnecessary data collection and, as declared in Google Play’s Data Safety section, does not share your data with third parties.

Note: Availability of features can vary by device, Android version and iShredder edition.

Take control of your privacy and make sure “deleted” really means deleted — with iShredder for Android.

I purchased the military version of the app for a previous phone. When I went to re-install on a new phone, it required I purchase the product. I wrote customer service and explained the issue, and was granted a refund...that I never received. Now, I'm getting the run around. Beware! Eventually, you will upgrade your phone and find yourself feeling scammed out of your hard earned money.

It appears to clean files, caches, free space, or what items you select. It gives detailed reports. It appears to work well. The free version prompted me that I could only wipe a set amount of data per day. Though it doesn't restrict the amounts of free space you can wipe. That was a surprise. I wish it had an ability to examine some of the wiped areas for reassurance that it's doing the job. But with that, the app seems to work well. Thank you for the app iShredder!! I read some of the other reviews: The app freezes up? Sometimes the percentage completed stays at zero and elapsed timer is working. Chill! It will finish and give you a report! The photos you deleted only to find the photos still present? Those digger apps will find thumbnails in various clipboards and image caches. The error is likely your oversight. Look at the file size. Do some research!!

This works well, but there are more negatives than positives. I love 25 different ways to shred your files! Unfortunately only 5 are free, the rest u have to pay. Oftentimes u don't know which is which until u click on it and it tells u "upgrade required" to use that feature. Always choose FILE EXPLORER to pick files to shred, then go to INTERNAL STORAGE or SD CARD, then PICTURES (or whatever), & pick the ones starting w/ "trashed" in the name. Those are your deleted files. Too complicated!
