I WAS full of hope... Hi. Full of hope when I found your app. Wanted to test WLAN throughput between my 1) Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials and a Nexus 7 (2013) and 2) W8.1 machine.and Nexus 7 (2013) I followed your instructions and installed the Windows server script on both the WS 2012 R2 and also on the W8.1 m/c. The script launched itself and the prompt was that it was listening on port 1212. The Android app found both of the different servers each time I browsed for them. However when I started the test I consistently got the error (quickly) flash at the bottom of the screen: "failed to connect to 192.168.0.xxx (port 1212) after 3000ms" This occurred when trying both servers AND after I opened up the port 1212 on TWO different routers to make sure that a router was not blocking the connection. I would have been ready to buy the pro version of the app as I am always testing my network in some way. However it does not seem like it works for me. 2 stars for making it available to Android users and happy to increase my rating if I can get it to work. Regards Marty UPDATE: After following the author's further instruction to turn off Windows OS firewalls I had great success 5 stars!
The best! Enabled me to get the highest WiFi transfer speed with the correct router settings. This is the only app I could find that enabled me to set up my wireless connection with the best settings for the highest possible WiFi transfer speed. First I hesitated to install the required software on my desktop PC since I expected a lot of installation garbage. No need to worry. It does not really install but just runs without creating registry entries or other garbage - cannot be better. But do not forget to disable or change the firewall so that it can communicate with the app! The app itself is easy to use and gives you a perfect picture of your WiFi speed and enables you to find the best settings at your router. Of course you should understand how WiFi works so that you understand the benefits of this app and can use it accordingly (read the provided documentation of the app). WiFi is very sensitive to other senders. A situation you might have if you are at a location with many other WiFi users. Alone the wrong channel settings can create endless problems then. But also the positioning of your WiFi sender plays an important role like many other things. From my email contact I know that behind the app is a great developer who listens to users and helps.
Good networking program I used this app to test out our wireless installation in our school's dormitories. It has a plethora of stats and info to give a good read, but I'll knock off a star for a bug where it refuses to stop scanning (I have to restart it).
Perfect This is exactly what I was looking for. Fantastic! Great job to the developer. Check out their other app, because its just as good and gives us another great tool.
Very good. Multiple tests give a range of results. If you use one of the 'wifi analyzers ' you can see the fluctuation of the signal, but the speed test gives you thru put which doesn't come thru with just the signal strength. Analyzer 'bars uses a different formula to calculate the better channel advisory than Analyzer stars'. Bars seems to be more accurate in crowded airspace.
The best Simply nerdy awesome
