Why bother with this app when you could just go to the website if you want to check your speed. It makes sense that because it's from Netflix it doesn't test your upload speed because they don't really care what it is as it doesn't matter to what they're doing but to have it as an app on your phone is completely pointless.
I have 2 other quality speed testers and they are consistent with each other. Had 7.5 and 7.2 on those apps. This one showed 3.47. Ran them all several times and got the same thing
Want to know how bad your ISP is throttling Netflix compared to your normal internet traffic? That's pretty much what this is good for. My phone on 2 bars got 23 Mbps normally and 3.7 Mbps from Netflix. That's a substantial limitation.
Since Verizon now throttles Netflix when its not blocking it outright alltogether!! Using this app will prove if your UP is BLOCKING, THROTTLING Netflix just like VERIZON WIRLESS DOES This app tells you exactly what bandwidth your ISP is "allowing" specifically for Netflix. Love this app. it shows how Verizon Wireless throttles Netflix to 4 mbps or less. Meanwhile other speed apps show a "true" not "so true" speed of over 50 mbps. Well when they start throttling every app your ISPdoes not benefit from how good is any claimed fast speed? Great app in an otherwise unethical and deceptive industry/world!!!
Small size to the point App The app checks only download speeds for Netflix. It would be great if it could save previous recorded speeds within the application. The app doesn't take much space and the packet size is small as well.
Flawed, the server selected is based on geoip database (which isn't always correct). Latency based selection might take longer but gives better results.
