At the heart of the Experiment with Light practice is a guided meditation that helps you listen deeply within. This meditation can be practised alone or in a group and is based on a process developed from early Quaker insights.
A variety of guided meditations are available, offering different versions to suit different preferences and ways of focusing. Though the wording may vary slightly, each meditation follows the same core process.
The standard structure includes six periods of silence between spoken prompts. Suggested timings for these silent pauses are: 5, 6, 7, 7, 6, and 5 minutes. These can be adjusted if needed—made longer to allow more reflection, or shortened by a minute or two for a briefer practice.
Audio recordings are available to guide you through the meditation, along with written transcripts for those who prefer to read or follow along silently. This flexibility allows you to engage with the practice in the way that best suits your needs.
