About this app

Facet is your personal trail waypoint log for capturing the moments that make a hike memorable. It turns your phone into a hand-carved trail journal that works entirely offline, so no accounts or internet connection are ever needed. Every scenic stop you save becomes a Trail Stop with a short name and a colorful type marker like Waterfall, Viewpoint, Wildlife, or Rest Spot. The Home tab greets you with a beautifully illustrated signpost showing a carved wooden counter of your total stops and a small starred badge for favorites. Right below, a hanging arrow invites you to add a new stop, while a compact list shows your three most recent entries with colored diamond icons and tiny favorite stars. The Stops tab holds your full, scrollable log sorted from newest to oldest, and each card takes the shape of a wooden trail sign with a hand-carved border and a diamond that carries a distinct hue — ice-blue for waterfalls, golden-yellow for viewpoints, moss-green for wildlife, and warm-grey for rest spots. From there you can swipe any card to remove a stop or tap the star to mark it as a favorite, and a search bar at the top lets you filter the list by name. Adding a stop feels natural and quick on the dedicated Add tab, where you choose a stop type from rounded rock-shaped chips with a subtle speckled texture, give it a name, optionally flick a favorite toggle, and jot a brief note — the form area is framed by a soft mountain-ridge silhouette that makes the experience feel at home outdoors. The Favorites tab filters your collection to only the stops you have marked, each still rendered in those same sign-shaped cards, and an empty state gently reminds you to mark a stop as a favorite if none are there yet. Because all your data is stored locally on your device, your log stays private, fast, and always available even deep in the backcountry. Facet does not include maps, notifications, or cloud syncing — it is a focused, distraction-free tool for day hikers, nature walkers, and casual explorers who simply want to remember where they stopped to catch their breath, watch a waterfall, or spot a deer. With a polished signpost-inspired design and earthy pine and sunset tones, the app feels like a trail-side companion that just works.
